Kava Extract

Kava is a type of pepper tree that grows in the South Pacific Islands (Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, Vanuatu) and Tahiti. The raw materials of Mihara Xintianyu Bio-Kava are mainly from Vanuatu.

Kava root has been used as a traditional medicine in the South Pacific Islands for hundreds of years. The main pharmacological action of kava extract is the complex synergistic effect of various kava lactones.

Like many other medicinal plants, kava contains not only a is the main active, but a complex mixture of different molecules called kavalactones, which include tascapillin, dihydrotascapolin, yangonin, and desmetoxy-yangonin.

Kavalactone has the functions of regulating nerves, reducing stress, relieving anxiety, overcoming depression, relaxing muscles, eliminating fatigue, and relieving insomnia.

The United Kingdom includes kava in the "Plant Pharmacopoeia", the United States includes the new version of the "US Pharmacopoeia", and many countries in Europe and the United States list kava as an over-the-counter or prescription drug.

In many island countries, it is generally believed that the correct and appropriate use of kava extract is beneficial to health, kava extract, and non-addictive.

The effects of some kavalactones may be secondary, but are essential in the overall soothing mechanism.

The activity is higher than that of single kava lactones extracted by titration, and a study (LA RECHERCHE, Feb 1997) indicated that the biological activity of the whole extract of kava was higher than that of the isolated single kava lactone.

Kava Piper methysticum Forst is a perennial upright shrub medicinal plant of the Piperaceae family, produced in the South Pacific Islands.

The roots and rhizomes can be used as medicine, and it is widely used as an anti-anxiety drug in Western countries.

Tianyu Bio-Kava Extract mainly extracts its effective part is the fat-soluble resin part, and the active ingredients are kava lactone, dihydropinach, anesthetine, dihydrokava, methoxypin Phytophthoracin, desmethoxy lepidopteran, etc.

The pharmacological activity of kava is due to the direct interaction of its active components with BDZ binding sites or GABA receptors, essentially binding to lipid membranes, thereby non-specifically modulating GABA receptors.

Studies have shown that kava extracts can non-specifically block norepinephrine (NE) receptors on synaptosomes in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus of mice, but have no effect on serotonin receptors, indicating that the active ingredients have no effect on serotonin receptors.

The inhibitory effect of monoamines is preceded by their anxiolytic activity.

Kava extracts are widely used to treat anxiety and insomnia.
